Best Booth Types for This Venue
Skip the printed backdrop and use the exposed brick wall as your natural background — it's one of the best built-in backdrops in all of San Diego. Position the booth about 6–8 feet from the wall so the texture reads clearly without guests being too close. One important heads-up: the space can get warm during summer events when at full capacity. Mention to the coordinator that you'd like good ventilation sorted before guests arrive. In cooler months it's a total non-issue.
Our Full Guide
Everything we know about BRICK @ Liberty Station
BRICK is one of San Diego’s most visually distinctive event spaces — and one of the most naturally photo-friendly venues in the city. Housed in a converted historic Naval Training Center building at Liberty Station, the combination of exposed brick walls, soaring ceilings, market string lights, and a signature roll-up door gives the space a look that requires almost no additional décor to feel special.
After 9 events here, our biggest piece of advice is simple: use the brick. Position the photo booth so the exposed wall is visible behind guests and you’ll produce photos that look unlike anything else in San Diego. The texture, the warmth, the industrial character — it all reads beautifully on camera. No printed backdrop you bring is going to improve on it.
The roll-up door is one of the venue’s best features from a photographer’s standpoint. During setup and cocktail hour it floods the space with natural light that’s hard to replicate artificially. As the evening progresses and the market lights take over, the whole space shifts into a warm, intimate glow that guests love and cameras love even more.
The space accommodates up to 220 guests seated — the sweet spot for most San Diego weddings and corporate events. BRICK operates an open vendor policy, is ADA accessible, and includes WiFi and market lights as standard. The 24-hour rental window (10AM to 10AM) gives vendors real breathing room for setup and breakdown without rushing.
Load-in is one of the easiest in San Diego — the roll-up door means you can wheel equipment directly in from the parking lot with no stairs, no elevators, and no bottlenecks.
The one thing worth flagging: the space can get warm during summer events at full capacity. It’s an enclosed industrial building, and San Diego summers are real. Mention to the coordinator ahead of time that you want ventilation sorted well before guests arrive. In the fall, winter, and spring it’s a complete non-issue — and honestly one of the coziest venues in the city.
For weddings, milestone events, mitzvahs, quinceañeras, and corporate gatherings that want character over a generic hotel ballroom, BRICK consistently delivers.
